Whom do you serve and whom do you trust?
What does the bible say when it comes to putting your trust in someone or something? For certainly it tells us to only put our trust in God and Christ Jesus. That is because we can only trust men so far. All men are sinners and fall short and thus can not be completely trusted. The Bible tells us not to put are trust in men or nobles: Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in Jehovah Than to trust in earthling man. 9 It is better to take refuge in Jehovah Than to trust in nobles. Psalm 146:3 Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs. It tells repeatedly where to put our trust and in whom: Psalm 9:9 And Jehovah will become a secure height for anyone crushed, A secure height in times of distress. 10 And those knowing your name will trust in you, For you will certainly not leave those looking for you, O Jehovah. Psalm 31:5 Into your hand I entrust my spirit. You have redeemed me, O Jehovah the God of truth. 6 I do hate those paying regard to worthless, vain idols; But as for me, in Jehovah I do trust. 14 But I—in you I have put my trust, O Jehovah. I have said: “You are my God.” Psalm 33:20 Our very soul has been in expectation of Jehovah. Our helper and our shield he is. 21 For in him our heart rejoices; For in his holy name we have put our trust. There are many more psalms and proverbs along with many other scriptures that tell us to put our trust and faith in God and in Christ. All throughout the history of the bible there have been people who have proved to put there trust in God and not men but also there was those who put there trust in men and so called noble men. When it came down to who they trusted, it always came down to whether they had put their trust and faith in God or their own ideas or ways. Why is this subject of utmost importance today? Because will live in a time when true faith and trust in God will be tested. Jesus Christ even asked: Nevertheless, when the Son of man arrives, will he really find the faith on the earth?” In a new book released by the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society there is a chapter called: Trusting "the Faithful and Discreet Slave". In Matthew chapter 24 verses 45-46 a question is asked by Jesus: “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings. The key to who this faithful slave is depends not on who claims to be faithful or discreet but who is declared by Christ as faithful and discreet. When Christ arrives to judge not only the world but his followers. Has that time arrived yet? No but the Watchtower teaches that that time came in 1914, at least to judge those who claim to be his followers. Supposedly Christ judged the house of God between 1914 and 1919 in several different ways. This is where it gets interesting and confusing so hold on to your seats! I will be quoting from several WT publications. Most quotes will be taken from the March 1st 2004 WT magazine. On page 8 of that magazine we have the article "A Slave Who Is Both Faithful and Discreet" We see the twisted reasoning starting on paragraph 5. First it is established that the slave is a class of individuals not just one person which makes sense. The Slave is spoke by Jesus as having two parts. One part is faithful and the other is evil. We can see this by his words which do not separate the evil from the faithful but he goes on to talk like they are one in the same group. 45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings. 48 “But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart, ‘My master is delaying,’ 49 and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards, 50 the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour that he does not know, 51 and will punish him with the greatest severity and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his] weeping and the gnashing of [his] teeth will be. So we see that there is a evil slave within this class of slaves. This is why Christ asked the question "Who really is? In other words it is not possible to know who the F&DS is until Christ judges the whole slave class. Then whoever is found faithful will receive all his belongings. It will not be an individual that is found faithful alone but a group of anointed that will be found faithful and a group found unfaithful. Those who are found faithful will receive all Christ belongings. What are all Christ belongings? When Christ Jesus was resurrected he said that his Father had given him all authority on earth and in heaven. This authority would also be given to those who are to be with him in heaven to rule as kings and priests. The Slave that is found faithufl at Jesus inspection will have entrance into heaven, at that time he will be given all Christ belongings. They will share in his authority at that time. If the slave class was judged back in 1919 and given all Christ belongings then how come most of the slave was not even in exsistence at the time? Most of the anointed had not even been called at that time. How can you judge a class of people that have not even come on the seen yet? Would not all of them have to be there in order to have an inspection? Also when Christ judges the slave class he not only gives the faithful a heavenly pass but condemms the evil part of this slave class. Why is it if the slave was judged in 1919 the the evil part is still around? If they past the test then how come they have not yet receive the reward? To be continued...... |
