Compared with Korah.

I have been disfellowshipped for speaking out against the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of NY, for their association with the United Nations as an NGO. I have been compared to certain rebels in the bible such as Korah and Hananiah. Does the story of Korah apply to me? Am I like the false prophet Hananiah? I will address these baseless accusations against me.

First lets look at the story of Korah, it can be found at Numbers chapter 16. Verses 1-3:

16 And Ko´rah the son of Iz´har, the son of Ko´hath, the son of Le´vi, proceeded to get up, together with Da´than and A·bi´ram the sons of E·li´ab, and On the son of Pe´leth, the sons of Reu´ben. 2 And they proceeded to rise up before Moses, they and two hundred and fifty men of the sons of Israel, chieftains of the assembly, summoned ones of the meeting, men of fame. 3 So they congregated themselves against Moses and Aaron and said to them: “That is enough of YOU, because the whole assembly are all of them holy and Jehovah is in their midst. Why, then, should YOU lift yourselves up above the congregation of Jehovah?

The reason Korah and his assembly rose up against Moses and Aaron was they believed they should be equal in power to Moses. They thought Moses should not have all the power and that by having all the power, he was lifting himself above everyone else. Well was that the case? No. Moses and Aaron were personally appointed by God to serve Israel. Moses spoke to God face to face. There was absolutely no way that Moses position could be questioned! He was the one who lead the Israelites out of Egypt with the power of God, producing miraculous events. His credentials as Jehovah's true prophet and guide are undeniable! Korah and his assembly had no right to challenge his authority. They desired to have prominence and equal authority. Moses in no way was ever a harsh man in is authoritative position. He was the meekest of all men as the bible says! In fact, he fell upon his face after hearing what Korah had said to him showing his meekness and how this affected him because he knew that this was going to turn out bad for Korah and his assembly. (Num 16:4)

In chapters 14 and 15 of Numbers the Israelites had just shown a complete lack of faith in Jehovah by becoming afraid of the inhabitants of the land that was just spied out. They whined about going back to Egypt, which Jehovah had just save them from! How could they not put faith in Jehovah's saving power to clear the promise land after he had just conquered the mighty Egyptians? Jehovah felt disrespected.

11 Finally Jehovah said to Moses: How long will this people treat me without respect, and how long will they not put faith in me for all the signs that I performed in among them? 12 Let me strike them with pestilence and drive them away, and let me make you a nation greater and mightier than they are.

Yes, Jehovah had performed many signs and yet they still lacked faith in his power to clear the promise land. Only three people put faith in Jehovah's ability to clear the land, Moses, Joshua, and Caleb. If it wasn't for Moses pleading with Jehovah to forgive them, they all would have been destroyed. Was Korah one of those who put faith in Jehovah? No. What reason did he have for trying to equal himself to Moses? Pure ambition!

Do I have ambition to take over the Governing Body's authority? No. Am I like Korah seeking prominence and position? No. Did Moses and Aaron commit apostasy against God and Korah was trying to correct them? No. In what way have I acted like Korah? In no way have I acted like Korah!

How about Hananiah? Am I like Hananiah? Hananiah was a false prophet, prophesying peace for God's people and that no calamity would come upon them. Please read the account at Jeremiah 28. Jeremiah was preaching calamity and captivity for God's people by the Babylonians. Am I preaching peace for God's people today? No, but I am preaching a cleansing of God's people by Christ. In Daniel, Revelation, Matthew, Joel, Isaiah, and other prophets all speak of the day of Jehovah and how God's people will be trampled on and a cleansed remnant will be the result. The cleansing is due to transgression and because of those who have broken the covenant with their God.

Dan 8:9 And out of one of them there came forth another horn, a small one, and it kept getting very much greater toward the south and toward the sunrising and toward the Decoration. 10 And it kept getting greater all the way to the army of the heavens, so that it caused some of the army and some of the stars to fall to the earth, and it went trampling them down. 11 And all the way to the Prince of the army it put on great airs, and from him the constant [feature] was taken away, and the established place of his sanctuary was thrown down. 12 And an army itself was gradually given over, together with the constant [feature], because of transgression; and it kept throwing truth to the earth, and it acted and had success.

Dan 11:29 At the time appointed he will go back, and he will actually come against the south; but it will not prove to be at the last the same as at the first. 30 And there will certainly come against him the ships of Kit´tim, and he will have to become dejected.

And he will actually go back and hurl denunciations against the holy covenant and act effectively; and he will have to go back and will give consideration to those leaving the holy covenant. 31 And there will be arms that will stand up, proceeding from him; and they will actually profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the constant [feature].

And they will certainly put in place the disgusting thing that is causing desolation.

32 And those who are acting wickedly against [the] covenant, he will lead into apostasy by means of smooth words. But as regards the people who are knowing their God, they will prevail and act effectively. 33 And as regards those having insight among the people, they will impart understanding to the many. And they will certainly be made to stumble by sword and by flame, by captivity and by plundering, for [some] days. 34 But when they are made to stumble they will be helped with a little help; and many will certainly join themselves to them by means of smoothness. 35 And some of those having insight will be made to stumble, in order to do a refining work because of them and to do a cleansing and to do a whitening, until the time of [the] end; because it is yet for the time appointed.

Rev 11 And a reed like a rod was given me as he said: Get up and measure the temple [sanctuary] of God and the altar and those worshiping in it. 2 But as for the courtyard that is outside the temple [sanctuary], cast it clear out and do not measure it, because it has been given to the nations, and they will trample the holy city underfoot for forty-two months.

Matt 24;15 Therefore, when YOU catch sight of the disgusting thing that causes desolation, as spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place, (let the reader use discernment,) 16 then let those in Ju·de´a begin fleeing to the mountains. 17 Let the man on the housetop not come down to take the goods out of his house; 18 and let the man in the field not return to the house to pick up his outer garment. 19 Woe to the pregnant women and those suckling a baby in those days! 20 Keep praying that YOUR flight may not occur in wintertime, nor on the sabbath day; 21 for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. 22 In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.

Jer 5:11 For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have positively dealt treacherously with me, is the utterance of Jehovah. 12 They have denied Jehovah, and they keep saying, He is not. And upon us no calamity will come, and no sword or famine shall we see. 13 And the prophets themselves become a wind, and the word is not in them. That is how it will be done to them.

Isa 28:14 Therefore hear the word of Jehovah, YOU braggarts, YOU rulers of this people who are in Jerusalem: 15 Because YOU men have said: We have concluded a covenant with Death; and with She´ol we have effected a vision; the overflowing flash flood, in case it should pass through, will not come to us, for we have made a lie our refuge and in falsehood we have concealed ourselves; 16 therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: Here I am laying as a foundation in Zion a stone, a tried stone, the precious corner of a sure foundation. No one exercising faith will get panicky. 17 And I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the leveling instrument; and the hail must sweep away the refuge of a lie, and the waters themselves will flood out the very place of concealment. 18 And YOUR covenant with Death will certainly be dissolved, and that vision of YOURS with She´ol will not stand. The overflowing flash flood, when it passes through YOU must also become for it a trampling place.

Am I like Hananiah? absolutly not!
